In 1997 the Swedish parliament embarked on one of its most visionary projects to date, namely “Vision zero”, where the aim is to achieve a highway system with no fatalities or serious injuries involving road traffic.
Although making great strides in the right direction this goal won't be reached until human error can be addressed and the solution to this will be ADAS, AD and in the end fully autonomous vehicles. However, with driver support systems comes a new set of challenges such as communication between vehicles and radar interference. Where interference can cause both false negatives and false positives which means either breaking for nothing or even worse, missing something or someone.
Our solution, RadChat, offers a novel way to transmit data to a directed target via radar with low latency and opens up for new possibilities in vehicular communications. The method has been proven capable of deleting radar interference among vehicles while enabling secure and efficient sharing of data.
