Oppioo is an app for cancer patients where we combine the patient’s personal cancer treatment plan with an exercise plan.
Research shows that physical activity is of great benefit to cancer treatment, as it lowers the risk of side effects and relapse as well as speeds up the recovery. This evidence is based on several clinical studies for more than 10 years. We want to take this research to the next level by using machine learning to make an app that is personalized and relevant for the individual cancer patient.
By combining clinical oncological physiotherapy research with behavioral expertise and AI, we create a personalized plan for cancer patients with the best methods of behavior change support in terms of e.g. planning and follow-up of performing the exercise. We want to replace questionnaires with self-reports of cancer-related fatigue and health-related quality of life combined with medical records and registered data.
We will develop and validate precise methods for predicting what physical activity might give optimal effect and when during the cancer treatment based on patient data collected for all cancer diagnoses.
Oppioo will include a calendar function (for the treatment and physical activity plan), track progress with historic overview, personal recommendation of exercise plans based on continuous patient input and synchronization to HealthKit and similar tools.
As a cancer patient you need all support you can get to stay active. Such support should be accessible for everyone, anytime, and wherever you are – and therefore we are developing Oppioo.
