Teal School - social impact through a redesigned school

5

Our world is changing. The technological development makes it hard to even imagine what our kids will work with 20-30 years from now. Still most schools stay the same. And even though there’s extensive research on how we function as human beings, about what makes us happy and motivated, both teachers and children are struggling and mental health issues among young are increasing.

We firmly believe that the industrial paradigm which schools are built upon today has passed it’s expiration date, and that it’s time to look towards the new paradigm that is emerging. The industrial paradigm is production-oriented, and humans are merely seen as resources in a huge machine. The emerging paradigm is human-oriented, and the organisations are seen as living organisms, sensing their surroundings and needs, and adapting fast and painlessly. This paradigm is called Teal.

Teal School is today a nonprofit with plans to be a forprofit business in two parts:

Owning schools.

Target group for schools: Parents interested in their kids attending a school with our profile. Mission: To start several Teal schools and learning centers.

Selling our concept incl. digital tools and supporting Teal school startups and traditional schools that want to transform.

Main target group for concept: People world-wide interested in starting their own school. Mission: To encourage and support Teal school start-ups, with e.g: books, courses, consulting support, digital tools, quality certifications and getting access to the TS-network.

As a former teacher myself, I couldn't agree more with your assessment of current school systems. I really like your idea, but I also know that the education industry is slow-moving. Have you looked into how you will introduce your school system while still adhering to local legislation? Specifically, Skolverket's regulation? Wishing you all the best!
