Future Campus Challenge

Do you want to help shape the future KTH campus? KTH Innovation and Akademiska Hus invite everyone at KTH to participate in Future Campus Challenge, a competition for new ideas and research that can create a better campus for us all after the pandemic. On this platform, you can submit your ideas to the challenge.

Join us on Slack --> https://www.kth.se/form/6113b05678d5d40012c82268

How does it work? When we return to KTH, we can see our campus areas with fresh eyes. What would you like to change? Improve? Now is your chance!

The competition is open to all ideas related to our campus areas; KTH Campus, KTH Flemingsberg, KTH Kista, KTH Solna and KTH Södertälje.

All students, researchers and employees at KTH can join in. You can win up to 50 000 SEK in funding to make your idea reality!

How do I compete? You submit your idea on this platform by uploading a one-page PDF answering these four questions:

  1. What is your idea?
  2. To which campus area/areas does it relate?
  3. What problem are you solving?
  4. Why is the problem and your solution important?

This PDF will be used to select the winner. We encourage you to spend a bit of effort on layout and presentation!

Optional: The PDF will be your primary submission and what we will use to evaluate your idea, but if you’d like to add more information, you can link to:

  • A one minute video
  • A powerpoint presentation
  • A longer description

You can submit your idea in either Swedish or English.

When? September 15 to October 15, 2021.

Who? Students, researchers and employees at KTH are welcome to apply, regardless of discipline. How does it work?

The evaluation process will be carried out by KTH Innovation. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for interviews. After the evaluation process is finalized, eligible projects will be presented to a jury from KTH and Akademiska hus, who will pick the top projects, based on the following criteria:

  • Idea/innovative: That the idea is novel, well thought out, and clearly described.
  • Impact and potential: That the idea has the potential to be implemented at the KTH campus areas and contribute to better campus life. That the idea can attract, sustain, and widen its user-base.
  • Realizable: the feasibility of developing the project and implementing it on one or more of the KTH campus areas.

In the final step, you will be able to vote for your favorite idea. The idea with the most votes will be named the winner of Future Campus Challenge.
